Dev Diary #007 – Birth Haven Details: Midwifery
Interested in working at Ireland’s first birth centre? I know you are 🙂 Here’s the plan for holistic therapists, registered midwives or midwifery students.
For Midwives, Midwifery Students and Therapists
Contact Birth Haven by phone, email, or social media. After submit your CV, a executive officer will contact you by phone to set an interview date.
At your interview, you will be asked about your experiences, a series of clinical questions and given an aptitude test. If successful, you will receive a call back. We’re seeking midwives/therapists that have a philosophy and history of advocacy, positivity, strong belief in uninterrupted birth, supporting choice, independently minded, business oriented and midwifery wisdom. We do not have a mandatory minimum hospital requirement. We provide on the job training in caseloading midwifery.
If successful, you’ll be offered a partnership with Neighbourhood Midwives Limited. For those who do not already have indemnity insurance, we can negotiate payment of your insurance fees into the partnership contract. Your partnership agreement will be finalised when all the necessary stipulations are complete.
When you are offered clients or bring in clients yourself, Birth Haven will handle all the account administration. This service includes billing, overdue accounts, health insurance paperwork, indemnity insurance payments, partnership expenditure, CRO filling requirements and Revenue requirements.
Partners can avail of training, both mandatory for regulations and exclusive training for Birth Haven. A supportive governance structure will be in place to help with day to day questions regarding care, regulation and guidelines. Follow this development diary for more updates on our structure.
Our team’s job is to make yours easier by helping with the time management of each midwife. Birth Haven will organise the timing of appointments, administration of clinics and the general timing of client care. Picture this: you have a clinic on a Tuesday morning when you need to see 4 clients for early antenatal care but your client has just rung, in labour. Now if Birth Haven was not involved, you would have to call each client individually to cancel, wasting precious time and distracting you from the most important matter at hand. Through our partnership, your scheduling headaches are gone and you can concentrate on providing excellent care.
There are many more details I would like to cover now, but this post is already a bit long. Feel free to comment below and ask the burning questions on your mind about how Birth Haven will actually work. You want details and I am happy to provide. The financial plan overview are planned for our next post.
All the Best!
